Separate backups of each partition

Thread needs solution

Hello

I have Acronis True Image and I use it on Windows 7. I have two partitions, one with the system and one with data. I will do separate backups of each partition, so I will not do a whole disk backup.

So restoring a partition should not be a problem. But could there be a problem if my system crashes and I have to restore it or is it fine to do separate backup of each partition?

You can restore partitions separately. However, are there any hidden partitions on your system besides system and data? There often are.

IMHO the simplest, best form of backup is a full disk backup (select the disk checkbox) that automatically includes all partitions. That full disk backup is also the simplest to restore, as you just select the entire disk and signature, and don't need to worry about hidden partitions that you may not have backed up.

Sorry, I've written it the wrong way. I have two disks, one ssd and one hdd. On the ssd there is the system and on the hdd the data. But I don't want a whole backup of the two disks because it takes really long to restore it because I have a really slow connection to my diskstation.

So, you have separate physical disks, not separate system and data partitions. In that case, yes, do separate backup tasks for each.

For the system drive, I recommend that you perform a full disk backup (select the disk checkbox) that automatically includes all partitions. That will include even hidden partitions on the system drive, as many systems have such hidden partitions and they are often necessary.
