Trying to recover after MoBo upgrade

Thread needs solution

I upgrade my motherboard so that I could add more RAM and also upgrade my CPU later on. My OS is on a RAID 0 setup. I used True Image to create a backup of the whole disk before changing out the board. I then changed out the board, recreated the RAID in the new moBo's RAID controller. I recovered my image. Windows attempts to boots now, but I get a super quick BSOD (like really just blinks on and off, no way to read any data) and my machine restarts again.
Any ideas? Should I try a fresh install of windows and then recover the image? Am I correct that if worse comes to worse I can install all the programs myself and just use the image to restore my actaul data? I just ate to take the time to reinstall everything and get all my preferences right for each program. This is my production machine and I need to be up and running on monday.
thanks.

Andrew,

You are restoring to dissimilar hardware. You new motherboard requires a different disk controller driver that Windows needs to boot. If I were you, I would reinstall my OS and my apps, then use the backup to restore the content.

Alternatively, you can use Universal Restore: you need to purchase the Acronis Plus Pack, create/download a recovery CD with it afterwards, find the unpacked drivers for your disk controller and make them available during restore from the recovery CD through some USB flash drive or something like this. http://kb.acronis.com/content/23561

I was afraid you might say something like that. Well a fresh install is always nice, just have to get it done in a hurry.
thanks.
