ABR 11.5 ADV WS, storage nodes, and rotating offsite backups...
What happens to Acronis backups in the following situation....??
Backing up the C: to an onsite D: storage node with the backup secondary location to be transferred to an external esata drive via Acronis that is rotated weekly offsite and switched with a second drive every week?? Does this break anything in the backup chain? UR and Dedupe are also in use fwiw. Whats a good backup configuration with Daily data backups and weekly OS backups? I`m thinking GFS, but not sure how that plays with offsite backups?

Hello Eric,
Thank you for posting this question in our forum.
When you want to use swapped drives, you cannot use Acronis Storage Node. This module does not support swapped drives. If you want to have offsite rotating backups then you have to use personal vaults then. You can there define, that you are using external drives. Or you use the simplified naming.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.

Well, now this is interesting since I kind of want to do a rotating drive schedule for monthly backups. But currently in the backup plan (even a custom plan) you do not have that fine a granularity when creating secondary storage. When you define the secondary location, and do the backup, it synchronizes the entire backup archive with that secondary storage location.
So, if you have a system you backup that is really large (I have some that are several TB in size) it takes forever to sync that across the network. You have to make sure your secondary location has enough space and so forth as well.
Am I missing something? is there a way to only put a single differential (or full depending on your backup plan) backup on a rotating removable storage drive other than manually copying a particular backup file ( which can be done if you use Simple naming). But then, if you need to restore something...that might cause problems if all the backups are not in one place.
Thoughts/ideas?

Hello Carl,
Thank you for your reply.
If you only want to have the last part of your backup chain copied to the second destination, you should be able to define this at Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5. Have you tried this feature?
The other way is to use a copy tool like e.g. robocopy to copy your last backup after your main backup job.
