Acronis 11.5 Backup installation hangs on Agent Core

I'm having the same issue on on the latest build (38774) and the prior build (38573) in Windows 7 Ultimate SP1.

Basically I launch the installation and it does not proceed past the "agent core" portion of the install. It doesn't produce an error message but just hangs.

I launched the executable as administrator within an administrator profile and nothing is working. It no longer asks for the serial number after the first attempt so it much be cached somewhere, despite my cleaning out the temp folder.

Any ideas?

Never mind, I was able to resolve the issue.

Apparently some spyware was embedded and impacting performance and possibly stability on the machine. After using system restore to a point a couple weeks ago it installed and ran the backup job flawlessly.
