Cannot create, edit or delete backup plans from management console

Thread needs solution

Hey folks. Looking for some help. Recently, and suddenly, we are no longer able to edit, delete or create backup plans from the management console.

I can open a backup plan, i can make all the changes i'd like, but once i save it and return to the list of backup plans all those changes are gone. if i try to delete a plan, it appears to do something, but then returns to the list and the plan is still there. and no errors messages.

i have one plan that is just grayed out now because it appeared to be deleting, but didn't really. at least i don't think so!

any ideas??

PS: have updated just now to latest build, no difference.

Hello bwoodvine,

it looks like DML Database was corrupted and needs to be recreated. Therefor please follow these steps:

1) stop Acronis Management Server Service

2) delete/rename following file:
    Windows XP/2003: Documents And Settings\All Users\Acronis\AMS\dml_objects.*
    Windows Vista/7/2008/2008 R2: ProgramData\Acronis\AMS\dml_objects.*

3) start Acronis Management Server Service

4) re-add agents

5) recreate backup plans.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.

Thanks for your response. When you say re-add the agents, do you mean we'll need to re-add the machine with agents to the console? And will we have to re-create every backup plan?? that's pretty painful.

Hello bwoodvine,

yes, the backup plans need to be recreated.

Thank you.
