Differential Backups with Commandline should overwrite last File
Hi,
I use the command line to create
* one full backup a week and
* one differential backup the rest of the week
to safe bandwidth.
So far, so got and works well, but Acronis creates every day a NEW differential backup with a increasing number on the filename. After a month I have 20 differential Backups I don't need thats waste space.
How I can fix it with Acronis so I have only one full and one diff?
Can I really delete the OLD diff-files?
My command are:
[full backup]
acrocmd backup disk --disk=1 --loc=\\Backups\Clients --credentials=Acronis,XXXX,encrypted --arc=%hostname% --plain_archive --log=\\Backups\Clients\%hostname%.log
[differential]
acrocmd backup disk --disk=1 --backuptype=differential --loc=\\Backups\Clients --credentials=Acronis,XXXX,encrypted --arc=%hostname% --plain_archive --log=\\Backups\Clients\%hostname%.log
I Get the Files:
Monday: MyHost.Tib
Thursday: MyHost2.Tib
Wednesday: MyHost3.Tib
Thursday: MyHost4.Tib
Friday: MyHost5.Tib
Monday: MyHost.Tib (overwritten)
Thursday: MyHost6.Tib
Wednesday: MyHost7.Tib

Hi, Timo,
I've filed a bug for non-deleting old differential backups. But I was not able to reproduce your situation with new differential backups: after I created a new full backup, further attempts to create differential backups failed.
