Antonio,
What actually happens when you try Disk Management?
Is this the Windows or Linux,WinPE version?
It is working for me in Windows 7, Linux and WinPE 3, I haven't made a WinPE 4 version as yet or installed it on W8.

Hi Colin,
I submitted a picture after starting DiskMgmt under Acronis ABR before Build 37608 this is working fine WIN7 SP1 64Bit. Under WIN8 I cannot select DISKMGMT it is not shown on the left pane.

If nothing else works, read the manual - http://www.acronis.com/support/documentation/ABR11.5/#23538.html - it's a known limitation on Windows 8

Yes, here too on Win8 since the update to 11.5.37608. The service is not available in Services.

I don't know if this is the reason, but I was one of the beta testers for ABR11.5 SQL (the new build eventually), there were problems with Disk Management Lite, perhaps Acronis haven't been able to resolve those as yet, which is why they have issued a 'known limitation' in the user guide.
Now that I've (today) reinstalled my W8 VHD, I can install the latest build to it.

Peter,
With my installation of ABR11.5:37608, there is no Disk Director Lite in my Windows 8 Pro 64 bit VHD, I assumed it had been deliberately deactivated on Windows 8 installations, or is it because I have installed into a bootable VHD?

Hi in the Acronis Manual it is documented that with WIN8 no DD Lite is available !!!!!!!

Hello Colin B.,
Thank you for your reply.
Antonio Zampino is right. See Running Acronis Disk Director Lite.
"Acronis Disk Director Lite is not available under Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 and bootable media based on WinPE 4.0."
If there is anything else I can do for you, please let me know.
Thank you.

Disk Director Lite works under Linux-based bootable media. Therefore, the disaster recovery scenario is supported. In Windows, its native Disk Management is available.

Windows' native disk management does not support cloning operations though.
When will the functionality be reinstated please? I would not have bought B&R in the first place without it. To me, it's a bit like Microsoft saying that Word 2013 no longer supports page numbering or something.

Is not cloning available under boot media?
Word plays its own game. ABR plays the game determined by MS. When the rules change, accommodation may take time. The priority of features is determined by the product management. Cloning under Windows may not look like a high priority task. You will have to reboot anyway :)

Hello-I presently have TI Home 2011 Version 6942 and DD Home Version 2342. I have replaced my Win7 computer with a win8 computer and I do not expect these versions to work with Win8-64bit. I observed that there is a TI release that should support Win8(Users are having problems according to posts). However, nothing has been released for a Win8 compatible DD. Are these problems going to be corrected soon? I will need both products very soon but both problems must be resolved before I order these products. Thanks.
