Linux Backup

Thread needs solution

Hi Experts,

When making backups in a Linux platform is it a need that the external storage where the backup will be stored is also in a linux format like .ext3 or .ext2? (I am referring to the external storage format). Does it accepts the format from windows which is in .ntfs format?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

James

Agent for Linux (installed in a live linux) writes data to the vault using linux system calls, so it depends on whether this storage is accessible from e.g. a terminal as a part of file system to commands such as 'ls'. Bootable media can write to NTFS filesystem only if 'Windows-like' volume representation is selected. ( http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ABR11.5/#13655.html )
