[RESOLVED] Backup Fail Protect Command

Thread needs solution

Hi,

we are using Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 with Addon: Universal Restore on our WIndows Server 2008 R2 Standard, since 5 months now.

For 3-4 days our Backup-Plan fails everyday with the following message:

ProtectCommand: Ausführen des Befehls fehlgeschlagen.

We are absolutely clueless how to resolve this, since the error message does not give any hint about the reason. Or at least none that we understand.

Please advice if you have an idea. Thank you.

Dominik

Try to backup with Acronis VSS provider in backup plan options instead of "system default" (.i.e. Microsoft VS)
Check http://kb.acronis.com/content/36200 - especially other places where errors may be logged - windows event logs and VSS writer errors.

Hi,

thank you for your reply. The source of the problem was an update for Symantec End Point protection though, which needed a reboot. After that the Acronis Backup worked fine again.

Dominik
