SQL Server 2014 backup devices being deleted

Thread needs solution

The Acronis Backup is running great -- except for one very large problem.

I am a software developer using Windows 8.1, Visual Studio 2013, and SQL Server 2014. I have a number (30+) of SQL Server databases that I use in my development and support activities.

Every time I run a backup (full or incremental) all of the backup devices in my instance of SQL Server 2014 are being deleted. I can add them all back in (a time-consuming and irritating process after about the 5th time), and the very next time I run the Acronis Backup against the volume (D:) that contains all of the .mdf and .ldf files, all of the backup devices are again deleted.

I hope you can please tell me (a) why this is happening and (b) how I can get around this problem or cause it to stop occurring?

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this problem. It is very time-consuming and seems pretty silly to me -- but it's happening nonetheless.

Hi Lynn,

thank you for your posting!

We'll need to investigate the problem. Most likely the issue is related to VSS but before telling anything for sure we need reproduce it in our lab.

Please contact our support team, so that they can assist in gathering the relevant information.

Thank you.
