SSD drive freezes after installing AB 11.5 on Windows 8.1 x64
After installing Acronis Backup Advanced for PC 11.5 (downloaded today from the Acronis site), I started experiencing some freezes.
At first I thought it was an external USB 3.0 drive, but removing it did not help. Then I noticed in Task Manager that the SSD (C: drive) was stuck at 100% activity. I updated the firmware, disabled link power management, but that didn't help. I also noticed that rebooting would hang forever, requiring me to physically press the reset button.
I've got an Intel X99 chipset and the SATA controller was initially set to RAID mode. Switching to AHCI did not resolve the hangs.
I then removed the Acronis backup agent and the problem went away immediately. No backups were running - simply having the agent (and its drivers) installed caused the issue.
I'm currently running Intel RST 11.6. My machine is Windows 8.1 64-bit (with update 1 and latest updates).
Any ideas for this?

I have the same issue.
I ran process monitor when I saw the 100% utilization C: drive start
Saved logfile. I started a second logfile but the system hung.
