Unncessary temporary files during deletion/cleanup
Acronis Backup 11.5 seems to use massive amounts of temporary space for no reason when deleting backups. That makes my retention rules useless, since they always run out of space and fail. I've seen this happen in many different situations, but here is the specific case that I'm facing right now:
I have an archive with 33 backups in it. The largest backup in this archive is 48 GB. There is 48 GB free on the backup drive. Backup #8 is a full backup, which means that none of the backups from #8 though #33 depend on backups #1 through #7. That also means that none of the backups in the entire archive depend on backup #7.
When I delete backup #7, it should be a simple deletion, not a consolidation. Instead, when I try to delete backup #7, Acronis fills up the remaining space on the drive with a .tmp file, and then fails. I have no idea what is in that .tmp file
Bonus issue #1: After the backup deletion fails, Acronis does not delete the 48 GB .tmp file, so I have to find the file and manually delete it.
Bonus issue #2: The deletion operation reports that it is "100% complete" before it even begins creating the .tmp file, so there is no indication that anything is wrong until my disk is suddenly full twenty minutes later.
I've tried this both in the Acronis GUI and on the command line, with the same result. Here is the output from acrocmd, with confidential information removed:
C:\>acrocmd list backups --loc=D:\ --arc="[redacted]"

Hi Kaphka,
Thank you for your posting! According to our internal sources consolidation should not be applied while removing backups without dependencies. I recommend you to open a support ticket and investigate this issue, as well as the next two bonus issues.
Have a nice day,
