Upgrading to Acronis Backup from True Image - Questions

Thread needs solution

I have been using Acronis True Image for several years but I need something that will give me more flexibility and control so I'm thinking of switching to Backup For PC.  I have a few questions:

1.  Does Acronis Backup create the same type of backup files as True Image?  Can Acronis Backup do a recover using a backup file that was originally created by True Image?

2.  Does Acronis Backup allow you to specify an alternate storage location if the usual location is not available at the time of a scheduled backup?

3.  If I am creating a full backup and after the backup is completed I manually move the backup file from its original saved location (folder) to a different location (perhaps a network folder) is there a way to tell AB the new location of the file?  (With True Image the answer is No.  If you move a backup file from its original location the program assumes it doesn't exist anymore and you can't recover from it.)

Thanks for any help with this.

Hello,

1. No, archives of home and enterprise products are not compatible.

2. No, there is no such feature.

3. If you want to recover from the moved archive, you need to specify archive location just as usual, there is no difference. If you need to continue performing scheduled backups to the new location, you need to edit the backup task and specify the new location.
