Backup Recovery does not detect RAID-0, instead sees two SSD's

Thread needs solution

Using Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5, I am able to perform a complete backup of my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit 120GB system ( two SSD's of 60GB each, configured as RAID-0 ) to an external USB drive.

However, when I boot up my system from an Acronis Recovery CD, it does not detect a RAID-0, instead sees two 60GB SSD SATA drives. I've tried making countless Acronis Recovery CD's ( both Linux and WinPE ) by including the AMD RAID controller drivers but still unable to get Acronis Recovery to detect my RAID-0.

My system was already built when I bought it so I did not select this RAID-0 thing. I wish it was a simple AHCI setup with two separate SATA SSD's of 60GB each. Anyway, I tried to change the BIOS setting from RAID to AHCI but Windows 7 would not boot and the Acronis Recovery would not detect any mass storage devices. So I changed the BIOS setting back to RAID. So I'm stuck now with a working Windows 7 system but unable to recover it from an Acronis RAID-0 backup on my USB drive using Acronis if my SSD's go bad.

I believe the AMD RAID controller driver is not functioning when the Acronis Recovery CD is up and running because I get a message "No RAID found" during bootup. It's almost like the AMD RAID controller driver is dependent on another driver. I've burned like 10 CD's ( 5 linux, 5 WinPE ) to create Acronis Recovery CD's with the proper AMD Raid Controller INF files, also included AMD A75 chipset drivers.

Here are my system specs for your evaluation. Thanks.

Two OCZ-Vertex3 60GB SATA SSD's
Mainboard MSI FM2-A75IA-E53 ( AMD A75 chipset )
CPU AMD A10-5800K APU with Radeon HD 7660D
8GB Patriot DDR3-1333

I downloaded the latest drivers from the MSI website to include in the Acronis Recovery CD but still no luck...

Please help.

Hello Brandon,

Thank you for posting this question in our forum. I am happy to assist you.

The idea using a WinPE to see the RAID controller is the correct way. However, you need to add only 32-bit drivers to the WinPE media, except you are using WinPE 4.0. All other versions of the AIK are creating a Windows 32-bit bootable environment.
