PLEASE HELP!!! - Need to RESTORE Windows Server 2012 Image!

Thread needs solution

I have a Dell T430 running the PERC S130 raid controller. Because it's proprietary and not part of the bootable media - the Acronis bootable media sees the raid 1 configuration as two separate drives. So I attempted to create a WINPE image and added my Perc S130 drivers to the build. When I boot with that image - there's no MOUSE or KEYBOARD available. The machine ONLY has USB support for serial devices like mice and keyboard so I can't connect legacy devices. I tried searching for instructions on creating a BARTPE bootable CD - but everything I can find is SO OLD it's useless to me. The best I can find is instructions on creating an ABR v10 image with BARTPE - but that version doesn't support Windows Server 2012!

I desperately need help getting the server back up and Acronis and Dell seem to be shooting me down in every possible way! Can someone help with either getting USB MOUSE and KEYBOARD drivers in the WinPE build - OR - provide instructions on how to create the BartPE bootable CD (with links to the appropriate Acronis plug-ins and files)?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Roy,

When using Acronis in a WinPE environement, things like USB drivers are done purely from the WinPE side and Acronis has absolutley no control or impact over this (unlike with our own Linux media).

I've already checked our internal sources and there have been no previous reports of problems with a Dell T430 machine and I don't have a working out of the box solution.

So if this is urgent, your best bet would be to check Internet sources for general problems related to WinPE mouse+keyboard support on Dell machines. This seems to be a common issue.

For example:

http://www.edugeek.net/forums/o-s-deployment/114379-winpe-4-keyboard-mo…

My own very quick research on this subject shows that the first thing to check is BIOS USB settings (disable USB 3.0 for example) or to make sure you use the latest supported PE version.

Hi Forum,

I have a DELL PE R430 with PERC S130. Booting via Acronis recovery media is not working. Is there a Acronis version which supports PERC S130?

I have seen article 8149.

Hello Marc,

the only available solution is outlined in the above KB article - you'll need to use a WinPE media, as S300, S130, and S100 are not open source drivers and therefore cannot be included in Acronis Bootable Media.

Thank you,
