Is this possible: Acronis Does Not Support Disk Controller?
I just installed Windows Server 2012 R2 on a Dell7600 box (with a Dell Perc H310 disk controller). I have not been able to get a good backup on ANY of the three internal drives since installation. The OS drive is a 1TB Seagate drive. The other two data drives are 3TB Seagate drives. I'm running the latest revision of Acronis 11.5 SERVER w/UR (build 38774).
I've run CHKDSK on all drives multiple times - even replacing one of the 3TB drives after conferring with Seagate. I've tried running offline backups from a CD bootable image - same issue. The error that keeps cropping up on each of the backups is (taken from the XML log files - attached):
If anyone can shed any light on this I'd REALLY appreciate it! Feeling very nervous that I can't get a single backup of any of the internal drives. Wondering if perhaps Acronis v11.5 doesn't support the PERC H310 controller?

Fedor -
Thanks for the comment - I'll try building a WinPE image and test it out. However - that begs the question, "Does this mean I'll NEVER be able to back up my machine using the Acronis scheduler as long as I have the PERC H310 controller".

It should work normally in live Windows that has drivers for this controller. The error message you provided comes from Linux-based media. Does it work in windows, and if not, what error appears there?

None of the drives can successfully be backed up under Windows Server 2012 R2. Both the C: (OS drive) and D: (data drive) run for awhile and then stop with a message stating interaction needed (failed to read data from the disk). Sometimes I do a RETRY and the job will continue for another few minutes - and then stop again.
The most recent job I've attached for my data drive:
Stopped at 25% - RETRY restarted it.
Stopped at 36% - RETRY restarted it.
Stopped at 40% - RETRY restarted it.
Finally running to completion after the third RETRY. The log here cites the same issues each time it stopped, "failed to read snapshot" (as you can see in the accompanying log for the D: drive).
In all cases, the errors are "failed to read snapshot" and "failed to read data from disk" (making me believe this is a controller issue). As I've reported, I've run CHKDSK on the drives in question MULTIPLE times - replacing one disk after conversations with Seagate. I've tried changing the VSS parameters to DEFAULT, SOFTWARE/HARDWARE SELECT AUTOMATICALLY, SOFTWARE - SYSTEM PROVIDER, SOFTWARE ACRONIS VSS Provider - even tried NO VSS at all on the DATA drive. Always the same issue - stops with one of two errors above and unsuccessfully will run to completion without intervention or interaction with the job.
I've attached logs for both the C: drive and D: drive backup(s) in case you might be able to shed any light on things. Thanks for the interaction and interest - I appreciate your help!

'I/O device error' and 'CRC error' in logs makes me thinks that it's indeed either controller error or disk error (or faulting wiring, it's possible too). If you're able to perform the disk backup using 2012R2 built-in backup (is it there?) I'd contact the Acronis support. If not - then it's probably not Acronis fault.

Thanks for the comments Fedor. Windows backups do not work either so I've been working with Dell on a solution. Seems EVERYTHING in the whole world is incompatible with the PERC H310 hard drive controller they sell with the machine...
