validation of incremental backup takes so long

Thread needs solution

Hi there,

I'm using Backup 11.7 for a while and lately I use to cancel the validation of the backups of my several partitions because even that it makes the backup in a few minutes (sometimes less than a minute).

I've configured it to validate only the incremental, not the full backup. So, then, why does it take so long?

thanks for the help,

hugo

Hello,

validation of incremental backups lasts as long as a validation of a full backup: it checks the availability of this backup to be restored (i.e. the restore of an incremental backup without a full one is impossible).

Ok, so, what's that option to "validate only lat incremental backup" instead of the full backup?

regards,

Hi!

The option Validation of the latest backup (no incremental) may also take time, even if this backup is incremental or differential, and small in size. This is because the operation validates not only the data physically contained in the backup, but all of the data recoverable by selecting the backup. This requires access to previously created backups.
