Acronis Backup 12.5 All In One appliance does not see new updates

Thread needs solution

I recently switched from a Windows based server to the all in one appliance that came with Update2 #8650.

Now I know that version #8690 is out, but when I click the "check for updates" button under the help menu of the console, it insists that I have the latest version already.

I've tried downloading the new ISO file manually and mounting it as a cd/dvd drive on the appliance, but it completely ignores it during the boot sequence.

Am I missing something obvious or should I reinstall the appliance completely?

On a side note, when will be able to easily export/import plans and settings? I have a simple backup schedule but it is still a pain to have to manually recreate plans and check every settings if I have to reinstall the appliance.

Thanks for any help.

Francois

Hi Francois,

The check for update functionality depends on special .xml file checking which is located in our datacenter and updated manually. Due to time constraints we didn't manage to update this .xml file in between 8650 and 8690 builds publishing, hence the behavior you see.

The booting from ISO should work after you mount it to the VM - try checking the BIOS boot order settings inside the VM. To get into VM BIOS you can enforce this option from VM configuration:

Concerning the backup plans migration - it's already possible to export and import existing plans, but you'l need to do exports one by one (exporting of multiple plans is pending for future updates):

Thank you.
