Acronis Backup 12.5 Installation Failed (Need Help)

Thread needs solution

Hi, I using trial licence Acronis Backup 12.5, installing the software at Windows 10 PC there is no issue but when I tried to install at Windows Server 2008 Enterprise there is no response and no error prompt

I have check in the event viewer also nothing.

Looking advice and help from Acronis Expert.

Hi,

Thank you for your posting! First of all, make sure you run the installation file as Administrator (even if you're signed in as Admin in the system, right click on in the installation file ->  Run as Administrator. See https://forum.acronis.com/comment/400024#comment-400024 for more details on why it's important). Additionally I'd recommend temporarily disabling the anti-virus software until the product has been installed. For the software to operate correctly it's also worth excluding Acronis folders and executables from the check list in your security programs. The following articles will help you to configure exclusions:

36429: Acronis Software: exclude program folders and executables from antivirus and other security programs

46430: Acronis Software: Making Acronis Products Compatible with Antivirus Software 

46440: Acronis Software: Making Acronis Products Compatible with Third-Party Firewall Software

Another thing to check: start the Task Manager and look for the process msiexec.exe - if there are more than one msiexec.exe process, terminate them and re-attempt the installation.

I have tried your suggestion like run as administrator and disable antivirus, the result still the same "nothing appear". There is also no process called "msiexec.exe" appear in the task manager.

When I install management console at normal PC and it works fine. Do you have any suggestion?

Thank you for feeding back! Take a look at %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Acronis\InstallationLogs if there is an installation log, please attach it to the forum thread. However, from your description it looks like the installation process is not even triggered. 

Have you checked that other software can be installed on this server? If not, this could be an issue with the Windows Installer. 

I'd also recommend you raising a support ticket at https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/contact-us/  as the issue would likely require the more in-depth investigation.
