Backup 12.5 with new USB drive

Thread needs solution

I have been happy with 12.5 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 backing up to a USB hard drive.  No need to upgrade.

One of the two USB hard drives failed so I replaced it with a 3TB drive.  Now am getting error 41 and 3.  The original 2TB drive works great.  Seems to be a metadata issue that I cannot resolve.

Question, does 12.5 support backup drive with more than 2TB???

Thanks for help in this area.

Hi C King,

Welcome to Acronis forums! There are no special requirements for the storage size, but the issue might be related to the meta data indeed. Are you using both USB drives in a single backup job e.g. swap drives regularly? If this is the case please read Acronis Backup 12.5 and 12: Backing Up to Removable Devices with Regular Drive Swaps that will help you to set up the backup job properly.

Otherwise please attach the whole text of the error message and a couple of screenshots illustrating the settings in your backup plan.

Thank you!
