Backup Conversion to VM Plan hangs at 0% in 12.5 U2

Thread needs solution

Hi all. I had this issue earlier with 12.5 HF1 where I cannot get an automatic conversion to VM task from a TIB or storage node to work.  VMware version is 6.5.0.170 build 4633957.

Creating the task works fine and it starts but just stays at 0% for a very long time. I also don't see any activity on the vCenter side. It's not creating the destination VM and I have no idea how to check logs on the Acronis side what it's doing. Any ideas?

I can browse to the backup manually in the server GUI and recover to VM and that manual process runs without error, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the credentials Acronis is using to connect to vSphere.

Thanks

Pete

Hi Pete,

The Convert to VM plans logs should be first checked on the agent side in \ProgramData\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS (on appliance it would be /var/lib/Acronis/BackupAndRecovery/MMS) in task_execution.0.log file - check the latest by date. If it doesn't contain any relevant entries, this would mean that the agent was unable to retrieve the plan from the management server side - in this case you should check the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\PolicyManager\Logs\ + C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TaskManager\Logs\ if they contain any relevant errors.

If checking the logs doesn't help then contact our support team for assistance. Remember to capture system report from the management server (https://kb.acronis.com/content/58301).

Thank you.
