Backup for Linux

Thread needs solution

We do have a huge problem with one of our linux servers. Following setting: Linux Server which formerly had Acronis Backup 12.5 for Linux installed is now being backuped by the Client of the Windows Backup.

That Linux Backup was installed a long time ago, but uninstalled as it just was not stable.

The client works much better. But here is our problem. Seems like there still is something left on the Linux server despite uninstalling backup. There is a backup process which keeps coming up doing a backup which fills up our harddrive. We cannot see that job anywhere. It is started by the root user and cannot be stopped.

Is there a way to stop that task from starting under linux without having to install the software again?

Thanks for your time :)

Hello Marco,

welcome to Acronis forums!

Both Acronis Backup 12.5 for Linux and Agent for Linux from Acronis Backup 12.5 store their backup logs here:

/var/lib/Acronis/service_process

You may analyze this folder to identify whether there are old Acronis tasks (e.g. by backup location path or by comparing with your current backup plan template).

If you find there old Acronis tasks that are still running, please contact Acronis Support Team and ask for experts help to delete unnecessary tasks.
