Extracting .xml File from a .TIB file
Hi,
Is there a way to extract .xml file or meta data out of .TIB file?
I have received acronus 11.7 .TIB wihthout .XML files or meta data .
I am using acronus 12.5 with ESXI and convert them to VM in order to restore and test them.
Thank you

Hi Maria,
Thank you for the email. This is what I am trying to do.
1. Get a machine backup using acronus 11.7 boot dvd from a physical machine in a remote location.
2. transport this backup, only the .TIB file to my lab.
3. Recover the backup to an ESXi using convert to vm option Acronus 12.5 web portal .( pls refer to pic for machine name)
4. in this case what I realized is without the XML file I cannot get the file name as machine name. it get displayed as _converted.
so in order to test the acronus 12.5 I did the following.
5. Use acronus 12.5 boot dvd to make a backup of the above machine. ( machine in the step 4)
I gave a logical name such as "nametest" as my backup file name.
6. move this .TIBX file to another location as suggested.( with acronus 12.5 boot dvd a xml file was not created.)
7. use the convert to VM option in acronus 12.5 web interface and selected [Machine name]_converted
In this case also the new vm machine name was displayed as _converted.
I was hoping to get nametest_converted as my virtual machine name.
is there anything else I can try?
warm regards,
Sukitha
