Impossible to deploy OVA appliance in the installation kit v12.5 last build

Thread needs solution

We use the Management Server on Linux OS. Well done but when i want to deploy the OVA appliance on our ESXi v6.5 we have an error on disk 2 (Error : size of VMDK is not good).

But when i use another appliance already deployed with Windows Installation and converted manually in OVA it's OK.

When i compare the size of the OVA in the kit and the OVA deployed by a new Windows installation it's not the same size. I think it's a problem with the installation kit.

I've tried to extract the OVA from Windows and Linux installation kit (latest build), same issue.

Have you already deployed OVA appliance from the kit and not with installation by the Management Server ?

Thanks.

Hi,

The vSphere ESXi host client in 6.5 is known to be affected by problems deploying from certain .ovf templates (see example thread describing the same issue). So far we've found the following possible solutions:

1) Deploy via remote installation (Devices->Add) from Acronis Management Server, though it will work only for Windows-based installations which are capable for deployment of .ovfs (despite Linux ones)

2) Deploy the .ovf to ESXi host using vCenter web client (the ESXi host must be registered in this vCenter) which will deploy the same ovf to the same ESXi host successfully, whereas ESXi host client will fail.

If both these 2 options are not applicable to your case, then you should contact our support team for assistance.

Thank you.
