Hello!

The company has licensed Acronis Backup 12.5 but I'm new using it so I'm doing some tests. However, everytime I try to recover a computer I receive different errors messages:

  • Refreshing recovery points. Error. Command has failed.
  • Recovering volumes. Error: Failed to open the backup location.
  • The activity has failed due to a restart of the service.
  • The specified file does not exist.
  • Path 'file:D:/Backup_Acronis/' does not exist.
  • Windows error: (0x80070003) The system can not find the specified path
  • Path 'file://domain/path/Acronis_bkp/' does not exist.

This happens with both network folder or local folder in an external hard disk.

I hope somebody could help me.

Thanks.

Hi Daniel,

The FW30761078_logs.zip log which corresponds attempt to restore from backup located on D: drive, does not contain any errors, and is incomplete (apparently because recovery is made with reboot, but it's not clear yet).

All 3 other logs indicate problems accessing backup archive from the restored machine over network - there are Windows system errors thrown: some indicate failure to resolve the hostname of the network share (which cannot be resolved to IP from machine you try to restore) and some indicate general failure to access the network resource and/or underlying disk storage, e.g. the external disk cannot be accessed with system error ("Puede que haya cambiado el medio en la unidad"). From the logs it's unfortunately unclear how exactly you're trying to access archive and where it is located.

For proper troubleshooting you should try accessing the archive by directly selecting the agent to browse from via "Backups" tab->select backup location on network share->choose proper machine in "Machine to browse from..." option. Before that make sure that hostname of the share can be resolved to IP address from the target machine (DNS must work properly):

Plus it definitely makes sense to contact our support team for further assistance. Please remember to describe your actions step-by-step, e.g. which machine you try to recover, where the backups are physically located, etc. Some screen shots illustrating the process would be most helpful.

Thank you.

Thanyou Vasily.

I can reach the location when the client is online, so I do not know why, when I restart the computer, the location can not be reached. Finally I was able to make a recovery from a bootable media. I had to change the network folder I was using but now it's working.

Thankyou very much for your help.
