Potential fix for Next Backup date being in the past

I had a device that was showing the "Next Backup" date as in the past and was frequently receiving alerts that the device was offline at a scheduled backup time. I had tried rebooting the machine, rejoining the machine to the domain (the MMS service account is a domain account), uninstalling and reinstalling the Acronis agent software, nothing worked.

I looked in the registry and found that there were registry entries left over from a previous version of the agent which seemed to be conflicting with the registry entries of the current agent.

  • HKLM:\Software\Acronis\Scheduler for 32bit device
  • HKLM:\Software\WOW6432Node\Acronis\Scheduler for 64bit device

I uninstalled the agent software again, deleted these orphaned registry entries, and reinstalled the agent. Now the device is reporting the correct "Next Backup" date. I hope this helps anyone that may be in the same situation.

Hello Thomas,

thanks for sharing your solution!

Other reasons of this peculiarity could be issues with a scheduler or overgrown AMS DB (when it grows to considerable size 100 GB or more) and therefore new entries are not processed.
