ABR 11 - System Hard disk(s) are not available in Items to Backup
Newbie: Just built a boot disk with WinPE, booted in a Lenovo laptop, launched Backup and Recovery and the hard disk is not listed as an available item to backup. It does see an external USB disk I wish to use for the destination. Seems like this would be simple enough.
In boot media of trial version you won't be able to back up it anyway. But, is the disk visible in 'disk management' page of the bootable media or in A43 tool ?
No, it is not visible in either of those.
Looks like hardware recognition problem, and you need to add disk controller driver to the WinPE media during its creation - http://www.acronis.com/support/documentation/ABR11/index.html#2869.html item 5.
Thanks, I added the driver and it's still not showing up, maybe it's not loading the driver?
I was able to load the driver in the ABR UI, I thought it odd that it would only load the AHCI driver when the BIOS is in RAID mode. Also when I hit continue it errored, was that because it's a eval license or should I have seen something that communicates that fact.
So - what does not work now - 1) disk is not visible ? and/or 2) backup doesn't work?
If 2) then the reason is, as I said before, that trial bootable media can't back up, only restore.
