AB&R10 Advanced Server - Small Business Server Edition | Backups do not delete Exchange transaction logs

Hi everybody,

I have an issue with Acronis B&R 10 and Exchange Server 2007. I use the VSS-Option with my backup tasks. Though the backups run with no failure showing in the backup logs the transaction logs from the Exchange DB are not deleted.

What can I do to ensure that B&R properly deletes the logs after a successful backup?

The Version I'm using is Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server - Small Business Server Edition (Build 10.0.13762)

In Backup & Recovery there is no such option. In Acronis Backup 11.5 (Update 1 and later) there is option (enable Full VSS Backup , see http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/AcronisBackup_11.5/#… ) to truncate logs after backup.

So there is NO option in Acronis B&R 10 to truncate Exchange logs? I'm just wondering, because in another setup that I'm running with the same Version and Build as above the logs of an Exchange 2010 are properly truncated every night.

No such option in Backup & Recovery 10 to control this. I don't know why they are truncated in Exchange 2010 in your setup.

Now I'm wondering about another thing. Is Acronis B&R 10 able at all to make a consistent online backup of my Exchange Database? Or am I making backups that are worth nothing at all?

And if B&R 10 is not able to do a proper online backup how do I ensure that my Exchnage Server is properly and consitently backed up?
