Hello,

I'm using Backup and Recovery 10 Build 12497. I have backup jobs that contain tasks to convert Full Backups to VM upon full backup completion. When creating the task as part of a scheduled backup task, the task configuration allows you to specify the host machine that the VM is created by (backupserver for instance). This works great for scheduled conversions, however, if I attempt to create a new recovery task to convert a differential archive to VM by selecting a differential backup archive (as outlined in KB article 6235), there is no option to select which host will perform the actual conversion. My assumption is that the agent running on the backed up server will perform the conversion. If that server dies and is no longer available, how would I go about creating a recovery task to convert to VM if I can't specify another host to perform the conversion?

Is there any other way to manually convert differential TIB's to VMware VM's?

Why do you think that it will be the backed up server? Most likely it will be the agent you are connected to when creating recovery task.
