ABR10 for SBS notification emails

ABR10 Advanced Server, SBS Edition has just been patched to Update 5 (Build 10.0.13762) by Acronis Technical Support.
We have created a new backup schedule but now are not recieving notification emails. The test message is sent and recieved fine and the backups are running fine but with a warning. The warning is just about not being able to send the email notification.
Also I would like to know why ABR10 doesn't seem to keep logs if they're over a day old, seems a bit pointless in even having a logs feature if they're just going to be deleted after 24hrs.
