abr_disk_restore "Feature not available" on Restore with Universal restore.
After talking to the Sales rep of your company, and explaining to him the type of project that we needed to do.. he suggested Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Advanced Server SBS Edition Upgrade + Universal Restore for us. We are trying to do a recovery to dissimilar hardware.
We installed the managment system, the liscence server, and put in all all of the liscences.. and got our first backup of the system we were going to recover to dissimilar hardware. We created the bootable media using the Default (linux-based media) with windows-like representation. We put the media into our target server, boot it up, get into the acronis boot system, Set up the entire recovery task.. it goes to start and we get an error: ABR_Disk_Restore "Feature not available".
I search through the knowledgebase, and the only hit i get on that was almost exactly our problem except his was a trial version, and ours is a licensed version. The substance of the post was that you needed to install the agent for windows to fix our error. We go to install the agent for windows on the server we installed the management software on, which also has the create bootable media components on it.. and it the informs us that we do not actually have a license for that, or that one cannot be found.
My question is 2 fold: Is installing the windows agent going to fix the ABR_Disk_Restore "Feature not available" error for us. And if so, does our version of ABR11 have all the correct licenses to do this? I was led to believe that ABR11 advanced SBS edition + universal restore would be enough to do this.
Thanks,
Nick
