Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Agent crash the ESXi 4.1?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

we need to backup a virtual Microsoft 2008 Server SP2 on a ESXi 4.1. We try to use Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Agent für ESX/ESXi Virtual Appliance (build 10.0.12.457). The backup task end with a lot of warnings and errors:

WARNING: [NFC ERROR] NfcFssrvr_DiskIo: failed to receive io reply
CODE: 5.439.489(0x530001)

WARNING: [NFC ERROR] NfcFssrvrRecv: failed with code = 9
CODE: 5.439.489(0x530001)

ERROR: Fehler beim Lesen der Festplatte.|Lesen aus Sektor '2.097.152' der Festplatte '2' fehlgeschlagen.
CODE:66.036(0x101F4)

After this errors crash the VM and the ESXi. Have you any solution for us?

Thanks in advanced

Unfortunately due to the lack of sufficient diagnostic information it is hard to identify the exact cause of the issue, so this situation requires investigation.

Please gather

  1. Acronis Info from the host
  2. Virtual Appliance logs

I got the same error CODE:66.036(0x101F4) for one VM-Machine under ESX4.0 with one of three Harddisks - fortunately without crashing ESX/VM-Host, but Backup is not possible. Is there a solution for this error available? What is the cause of this problem?

Note: In the meantime I have found a possible cause for this error. B & R 10 seems to have problems with Harddisks containing GPT partitions. The interesting point is that this problem is known since October 2009 (analogous to Echo-Server) - see Article 7026 (http://forum.acronis.com/forum/7026). I've installed most recent Build 12705 of B&R 10.
