Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 FULL (License and Convert vmware)

Thread needs solution

Good morning,
I would like to make some inquiries:

1. I have a license to a full suite of Backup & Recovery 10 installed on a machine with Windows XP Pro. But now, company guideleines, require all machines to Windows 7. So, I wonder if there is something wrong to put this program with the appropriate license for that operating system.

2. The second question is, whether it would be possible to change the configuration of acronis, so that when they are asked to make a backup to a virtual machine, which does not use disk operating system, and yes the destination drive. Because otherwise, I leave no space in that unit.

I appreciate your help, I look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,

Hello Benito,

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here.

You can surely reinstall the license onto the same machine even if you've reinstalled OS on it. The license is tied to the hardware, not the operating system.

You can also use a drive on a virtual machine as a backup location if the virtual machine is not located on the drive you're backing up. You will need to have an access to the running virtual machine via network in order to perform this operation.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you.

Hi Yana,

My backup is an external hard drive. But the moment that you please make my backup to a virtual machine, start to lower my driver where my operating system installed and Acronis.
The interesting thing would be that this reduction in disk space, were the external hard drive.

I appreciate your help, I look forward to your reply.

Sincerely.
