Acronis Backup & recovery 10 & ML310 G4 oboard Raidcontroller ICH7

Thread needs solution

Hello!

We have the follwoing System:

ML310 G4 with onboard ICH7 Raidcontroller activated (all latest FW)
4x 500 GB Sata Seagate Disks

RAID 10 defined

First we have a defect disk....got an warranty exchange from hp, but afterthat the system not boot an hangs on windows boot display (Windows Logo).

So i would make a backup of the datas and boot with my Acronis Linux Boot CD. It find no disks and show me only my connected USB-Disk. So i can't backup the datas :-(

OK but after i reboot without the cd, the system give me the message no systemdisk found!! So it looks like that Acronis "kills" the MBR or somethingelse of this Raid-Set.

I reinstall Windows 2003 R2 SP2 on this machine (after build new Raid 10...and so on)
All works fine, Raid is correct etc. I test a other Acronis boot cd (linux same build) and has the same phenomen, after i boot one time with the Acronis-Boot CD, on the next boot the system can't fine any partitions/boot sectors....

Is there any information what we can do? USe only a version with WIN PE ???

Please i need urgent help.

Thanks

Werner

Hello Werner,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.
We have had a few customers who reported the same behavior. Actually, FixMBR operation should make the system bootable, clean install is not required. We were unable to obtain the necessary diagnostic information, therefore, we will appreciate your efforts if you provide us with the below information:
1) Please boot your computer from Acronis Bootable Media and press F11 key after the "Starting Acronis Loader..." message appears and you get to the selection screen of the program. After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please remove the word "quiet", click on the "OK" button and select the Full version menu item to boot. Wait for # prompt to appear.
Type reboot.
The computer will reboot. Check the possibility to boot the operating system.
2) If the operating system is bootable, please boot the system from the CD again, perform the actions described above until # prompt appears. Type:
product/bin/trueimagecmd --list
Wait for the list of the disks to appear, type reboot and check the possibility to boot the operating system.
3) After the operating system boot failure (after step1 or step 2) please go to BIOS settings and check the status of the RAID array, whether it's FAILED/DEGRADED or it is OK.
Let us know the results.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other questions do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
