Backing up a drive image from another Acronis version

Thread needs solution

When remounting a saved image (saved on external harddrive) to my PC, are there any conflicts when doing so from within a different product number and/or version of Acronis True Home Image.

For example, if I have saved a complete image of my harddrive using Acronis 11, can I then safely know that I can remount the image with Acronis TI Home 2009? On a similar note, if I have saved a disk drive image under the earlier version of Acronis TI Home 2009 (and then downloaded the latest build), can I still trust the program to successfully remount the image? 'Or' is it necessary to always load the same product number and build version that matches the program number and build for which the image was created under?

I am only asking these questions because I recently had some corrupted images and was forced to do a clean install of my entire operating system, programs and everything else. That process is always a pain in the butt. I would like to know that I can trust Acronis TI Home to successfully remount an image without these issues.

P.S. I am not sure, but it *seems* the latest build of Acronis TI Home 2009 has all the kinks worked out of it. I know that is not the case (at the present) with Acronis TI Home 2010.

Scott,
No one can give you any guarantees! The 2009 should do what you want it to do but you will need to test it to make sure. All the "bugs" are never fixed in anybody's program. A newer version will usually restore one version back. Version 2010 will restore 2009 and "may" restore other prior versions. Version 2009 will restore v11 and may restore other prior versions. V11 will NOT restore a newer version such as 2009 or 2010.
