B&R 10 WinPE disk has damaged networking

Thread needs solution

I built an ISO using the Acronis Bootable Media builder and AIK 2.1. When I boot it on a Dell Dimension 2400 it appears that networking does not work: I can't browse for networks and files. Interestingly, if I perform a backup and specify a specific computer and folder for the destination I'm queried for a username/password and the backup completes. But if I then attempt to restore and specify the exact computer/path/filename restore cannot find it.

A linux version on the same computer works just fine, and the backup created with the WinPE version can be restored with the linux version.

Any suggestions for fixing this? Is this a known problem, or do I need to supply specific network drivers when I build the ISO?

Thanks,
dpm

Hello Dean,

Thank you for your message. I will definitely help you with this.

We do not have any known issues similar to the one you report. For some reason, unknown at the moment the WinPe environment has trouble accessing the network shares.

Before re-creating the boot disk with the network drivers, I can suggest to try and map a specific network share when you are booted to the WinPe. You can use this Microsoft article as a guide.

I would really appreciate if you can get back to me in case you need additional assistance.

Thank you.
