B&R Advanced WS 10: Component not found

Thread needs solution

I am trying to get B&R Advanced Workstation 10 running on a Windows 7 RTM x64 machine without success.. The management console reports 'Missing Component' as illustrated in the attached screenshot.. In addition, if I am able to get past that, and screens that would normally show a dialog box that includes available drives, etc -- shows up blank.  I have opened up a ticket with Acronis phone support, but so far they have been less than helpful, and do not have a solution for the problem.  Also, attempting to run the AcronisInfo.exe file they sent me to collect system information eventually blue screens the machine with a 0c000000a error, so I cant even collect a full set of info for them

Has anyone else experienced this issue and have a solution?

Hello Rick,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.

I have found your case in our database and consulted with our Experts Team, we've determined that SnapAPI drivers were not installed correctly (that's why you receive BSOD when running Acronis Info, Acronis Report is clean and program cannot detect hard drives).

In this case, please install SnapAPI update (I've sent you the link via PM) and let us know the results.

Thank you.

I tried installing the SnapAPI update that you provided.. It was the same version of the SnapAPI drivers that are already installed on this machine (3.8.0.463) -- these were installed with Build #11105.

Anyway, installing the update caused the machine to BSOD anyway with the same STOP 0x0000000A error.

Hello RickNY,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

Please temporally disable your card readers and see if the issue remains:

- Open Device Manager and delete card reader devices;
- Delete filter.sys file from Windows\System32\drivers;
- Disconnect the card reader;
-' Reboot the computer.

Thank you.

There are no card readers attached to this computer (including other devices which may include one -- i.e. printers, etc)

Sorry, responded with my personal account instead of my work account...

- There are no card readers in the system.  Likewise, there are no devices that have a card reader built-in (like a printer, etc)

- The file filter.sys does not exist in the \windows\system32\drivers directory on my machine.

Hello RickNY,

Thank you for your response.

I am sending you a new SnapAPI file via PM. Please remove the old SnapAPI by means of Add or remove programs and install  a new one. Reboot the computer to complete the changes.

Thank you.

Rick, did the updated SnapAPI help? I have the same error on a 2003 x86 machine.

I have the same error on a Dell D-620 laptop running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit (updated RTM) with a newly installed Acronis B&R Workstation (NOT Advanced). I have disabled the O2Micro OZ776 USB CCID SmartCard Reader in Device Manager. There is no windows\system32\drivers\filter.sys file.

I restarted the laptop and and still get the error when opening the Create backup plan dialog. Acronis cannot list the disks in the system. Consequently not backup can be scheduled.

Acronis Backup and Restore Workstation 10 version 10.0.11133.

Is there a resolution for this issue?
