Can't schedule tasks

Thread needs solution

I just downloaded True Image Home 2010, an upgrade to Home 11.0 but I can't schedule a backup. Every time I try a single backup schedule or One-click backup, I get the error message:

Failed to create the scheduled task. Error #1722 - "The RPC server is unavailable (0xFFF0)".

I had no problems with earlier versions of Acronis.

Joe

ps The other associated error is during startup is I get a window entitled: "TimounterMonitor.exe" saying that it could not find the MSVCP8.dll file and possibly reinstalling the software will fix this. I've performed a repair install twice with no success. I found the fox.dll file, as noted in another thread, and moved it to the two indicated directories and did a reboot. None of these three solved the problem.

Hello Joseph,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ | Acronis True Image]]

I understand the issues clearly and I can assist you with them.

1) To resolve the issue with a single backup schedule or One-click backup please make sure that AcronisScheduler2 Service (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services) Startup Type is set to Automatic. Otherwise, please set it to Automatic yourself and reboot your computer.

If the issue remains, please restart Acronis scheduler, it means that the scheduler service has been installed improperly.

- Download a special Acronis utility;

- Start the Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu;

- Run the following commands in the folder you saved the file to:

schedmgr task zap

schedmgr service stop

schedmgr service uninstall

schedmgr service install

This should delete all Acronis tasks on the PC. You should manage your tasks from the scratch. Manage a backup task and see if the issue remains.

2) The issue with the "TimounterMonitor.exe" error message is well-known, it is under investigation. The issue is only with installing Acronis True Image Home 2010 over an older version of the product.

To resolve the issue please do the following:

- Uninstall Acronis True Image Home 2010 through Add/Remove Programs. If you have an older version of Acronis True Image Home installed, remove it with Acronis CleanUp Utility;

- Do a clean installation of Acronis True Image Home 2010. Please note that we have released a new build of Acronis True Image Home 2010 (build # 6029), I would recommend you to update the version to the latest build.

You can learn on how to download the latest build here

If the issue persists, please obtain the following information and let me know about it via Private Messages, I will create a case for you:

- System report, if you have Acronis True Image Home 2010 installed. See Acronis True Image Home 2010: Generating System Report;

- Output of AcronisInfo Utility if you have an older version of Acronis True Image Home installed.

Anyway, please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawless for you.

Thank you.
