Choosing the right version of Acronis
Hello,
Given the fact that i am new to the backup administration I would need your help to decide my self.
I do not know what version of Acronis should I buy to protect my network.
I have the following machines: a Windows SBS 2003 server with MSSQL installed that is uses for email, file sharing and users administation and 8 workstations running Windows XP.
I want to be able to backup the entire content of the SBS machine and workstations and save them on a NAS storage device on the network. In case of a disk failure i want to be able to swap the disk and reinstall the corresponding image without loosing any time.
I intend to have a separate machine on the network that is going to run Acronis software. Can this machine run on windows XP or it has to be a Windows Server 2003 also?
Thank you.

Thank you for the quick answer.
I imagine that Acronis® Backup & Recovery™ 10 Advanced Workstation comes with only one licence key and i can use the software to backup max 10 machines. Is that right?

No. If you need to image the entire machine, you need to install it on each machine, and one machine = one license key.

Welcome to our Forum, and thank you for your interested in our products. I understand your scenario, and will be glad to guide you.
If you need the centralized management (manage all processes from one machine), and you're going to backup SBS and XP machine, then I would advise you to use Acronis Backup and Recovery Advanced Server for SBS and Acronis Backup and Recovery Advanced Workstation (for XP). This will be the cheapest solution for your case. According to the Acronis License Policy you will need one license for one computer your are going to backup or restore.
You can find the trial versions here. They are free, and almost full-functional, the only limitations are:
- 15 days of work
- Bootable media can restore only
The details regarding the limitations are available here.

Thank you!
So, if on the 2003 server i must install "Acronis Backup and Recovery Advanced Server for SBS" and on my workstations "Acronis Backup and Recovery Advanced Workstation (for XP)" with a key for each machine, to back up my machines, wich application i need to install for the centralized management?
