Clone failure, version 11, build 17217 boot CD

Thread needs solution

In general, we are having huge problems with versions of Acronis workstation later than Acronis True Image Echo Workstation with Acronis Universal Restore (build 8,398).

Features have been removed in versions 10 and 11. The new user interface is much worse.

We just tried to do a clone using a version 11, build 17217 boot CD. No progress was shown. After two hours, we stopped the program. It had destroyed the original hard drive so that it will no longer boot. The hard drive on which the clone was supposed to be stored was unchanged, apparently.

We are very much interested in have a version that works with Windows 7. We don't want to have to switch to some other backup program; that would be expensive, especially since our customers would need to buy, install, and learn a new program.

I had tried using version 11 from the boot CD and have also seen the "No progress" for hours problem. So for now, I am sticking to the early V10 before they ruined the rescue CD. Note: I tried it several times and it worked one time out of five for me. It seems that the recovery CD for later version is risky.
