cloning windows 2003 server

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have a single Windows 2003 Server which acts a domain controller for a small network and its the only controller on the network,

The current windows is on a 100 GB partition and recently that Hard drive is staring to fail,

so I have acquired a 500 GB HDD and want to clone this partition to the new Hard drive..

I wanted to ask if this is possible (I mean given the partition sizes..... etc,) and how (should I use a boot cd?, is there any partition to partition imaging?, ??) ?

and also which product is suitable for this job?

B&R10 Server for Windows will do this, and probably your cheapest option. It would be a best practice to make backups offline. B&R10 has a built in at least somewhat useful partitioning app from its bootCD ("disk manager") (very limited). Ive worked with multiple partitions and not too many problems when just backing it up to usb hdd (size is not a matter as it captures only what is actually used, not entire capacity).
