Deployment has failed: task ID is empty

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I'm new to Acronis Backup and recovery and I'm trying to setup our servers using Backup and recovery Advanced server. Whenever I try to create a backup plan on one of the manager computer, I get the following error:

---------------------------------------------------------------------

The Acronis Managed Machine Service is being run as "Acronis Agent User". Can anyone shed some light on this error because I'm truly stumped at figuring out what is going on.

I am having the same issue. I am remotely connecting to the client computer as the user "administrator". It is only happening on one of my machines right now.

Hello Proximedia and Ben,

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here! I understand your concern and will be glad to help you!

According to the information provided it looks like the issue was caused by the glitch in the Scheduler. In order to resolve the problem, please follow the below instructions:

  1. Update Scheduler as mentioned in this article
    In case the issue remains:
  2. Download Acronis Scheduler Manager. Open command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd); run schedmgr.exe and issue the following command:
    task zap
This will erase all traces of the tasks.
  3. Reboot the machine
  4. Recreate the tasks

This should resolve the issue faced.

Should it remain, please gather Acronis Info and contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

Hello all,

Thank you for posting.

I would like to update this thread with some new information.

We have released a Knowledge Base article that explains how to resolve this issue. You can find it here.

If you need additional help, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hello Anton

This KB article don't resolve this problem. After updating the scheduler problem is resolved for short time but after next editing the task problem back. I'm using domain administrator credentials to access to unmanaged vault localized on local disk on network machine with Windows 7 x32 Proffesional.

Hello Martinez,

Thank you very much for the follow-up.

I apologize for the difficulties, since the KB article is not helping, could you contact our Support team, reference the article and let us know your exact steps. I am confident that we will be able to fix this problem. Please include this report taken from the machine where this issue occurs.

Please let me know if you need additional help.

Thank you.

I'm having the same issue and none of the suggestions have worked for me. I've been contacted by different people but all they do is give me KB articles that do not work.

This is very frustrating.

Hello Jim!

Thank you for finding time to join us and report about the issue, I appreciate it, and would like to help.

I've checked our cases bases, but haven't found any open case regarding this issue that would be tied to your account. I assume it was opened to another e-mail. Our Management team would like to review the situation, and we would appreciate if you could kindly specify us the number of the case that you have opened with support regarding this problem?

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Hello Anton, Yana

I have contacted with the support team. They provided following solutions for the customer:

This error can appear when you try to deploy the task to the machine that does not have an access to the vault location. First of all the issue can be that the machine is not available or the credentials that are used cannot be accepted. Because of that I would recommend you to do the following:
1)    First of all please try to re-add the vault again and specify the IP address of the machine during adding this unmanaged vault. This can resolve the problem because in most cases the machine should be accessed via IP address.
2)    Please also check that the Customer specified the credentials correct: domain_name\user_name . It can be also critical and we recommend specifying it in this way in order to be sure that the correct account is used.
3)    Please also ask the user to try to create a new task and check it can be successfully deployed to his destination machines.
4)    Check if this machine can be accessed via the network from other machines (try to access the vault via Windows Explorer).

If the problem still persists then the best variant will be to set up a remote session.

Solutions provided by support do not resolve the problem. Customer tried to use different domain credentials notation without effect.
