E0004000A: Failed to create the file

Thread needs solution

Hi everybody,

I try to use the ABR 10 Universal Restore function to migrate our Exchange Server. Therefore I tried to build a bootable Media that includes all the drivers of my new system. But that's a problem. Here's what I did:
1. I copied all the driver files into one folder and then used the "Add"-function to integrate them into the iso-file. After some problems I managed all drivers to be included.
2. I then proceeded, got the finishing screen listing all the files and drivers, and pressed "Proceed" to create the ISO-file. However, after some seconds, the error "E0004000A: Failed to create the file" is shown and the operation breaks.

Some things I found out myself:
1. There is no problem when I try to build the media without ANY drivers included. But: As soon as I include just one driver, I fail.
2. The file size (including my additional drivers) is 337 MB, so no problem to burn onto a CD. However it makes no difference if I try to create an image on my HD instead.

Any idea what goes wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Arthur

Hello A B,

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice to have you with us. I understand your concern, and will be glad to help you.

There can be several reasons for this issue. But before we proceed with the investigation I'd like to offer you a workaround:

  1. Download the latest bootable media from your account
  2. Burn it onto the CD
  3. While recovering, please follow these steps. You'll have to put the drives to the separate folder and specify the path to them.

Please let me know whether this scenario worked for you.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
