Explorer fails after mount

Thread needs solution

Very disappointed in B&R10.... latest problem....

When u mount an image in read only, it seems to mount OK, but in acronis when u click Explorer to look at it, the entire machine locks up and you have to use the on/off switch to recover.
Is this explorer in acronis suppose to simply open up windows explorer? OR is it a special acronis explorer only to use with mounted images?
Any ideas?
Also, the mounted image never appears in windows explorer (from the start button), it this expected behavior?
thanks

Hello Bob,

Thank you for your post. I will certainly assist you.

The most probable cause of the computer freezing when you are trying to mount an image is because the timounter component is either corrupt, or did not update properly. This can easily be fixed by either repairing the installation or updating the Acronis SnapApi drivers. I would definitely recommend to postpone this for now, because we are close to releasing Update 2 for Acronis Backup and Recovery 10. You can then install it and get rid of the issue once and for all.

The Acronis Backup Archive Explorer is not in any way related to Windows. The driver used for mounting images in Acronis is called timounter.

If you mount an image but it does not appear in Windows Explorer, it is actually in fact an issue with our product which has been already fixed in build 11345. Can you please let me know what build you are using? We have a Knowledge Base article about this issue, you can read more about it here.

As I mentioned above, Update 2 will be coming out very soon. You can refer to this article that explains how you can download the latest version of our software.
