Failed for obtain the list of disk and volumes
AE B&R v10.0.11345, get the message "Failed for obtain the list of disk and volumes" when I try and backup. Additional information is:
Code: 0xAD0013
Message: Error: Component not found
Any ideas? Bit of a show stopper...
Thanks, Rob.

Later... I can restore an earlier image from the bootable media and B&R runs okay on restore. However, a bit later in the day, it wouldn't run.
The only thing that had changed was that I changed the drive letters...
I suspect this is the cause of the problem! I'm going to try some further tests.

Yes, that's it - obvious bug:
1. Install B&R on PC with C: and D: drives
2. B&R runs fine
3. Change label on D: to E: and reboot
4. B&R unable to obtain list of disk and volumes
We have a support contract so will raise as a bug.
Cheers, Rob.

Okay, the workaround for this is to uninstall and re-install B&R if you happen to change your drive letters.
Uninstalling is not simple as there are five components to uninstall individually (bad practise!) and you'll get lots of worrying warnings about not be able to close applications but the uninstall does work so you can then re-install.
A fix is needed for this though.

As I've mentioned before, Acronis always tell you to "uninstall and reinstall" to fix something. They think it's so simple they recommend it for every issue!

Quite...

This bug is really starting to annoy me now. I'm building my new PC with Windows 7 x64 and I like to burn images at each major stage during the build. For the third time, I'm going to have to re-install just to take an image!

Answering my own post but I think I've found the solution. I decided to Google the error message and ended up at Acronis own KB article... their search didn't find it but Google did - go figure!
Anyway, I think it's a problem with the Acronis Agent User account which is created locally on the PC when you install. Actually, I've got "Acronis Agent User" and "Acronis Agent User 2" but I suspect that's because I've uninstalled and re-installed.
But the fix is that this account doesn't have the right permissions on the PC. The KB article said it needs adding to the Backup Operators group. I added it to Administrators just in case and rebooted.
It's now letting me backup - yeah!
Thanks for the help Acronis - not...
Cheers, Rob.

Rob,
If you are using TI-11 to boot from it will not see all attached drives.
The "fix" is to spend $28 and purchase TI-2009.
The drawback is TI--2009 does not show you the MBR file if that is all you are trying to restore.
Hopefully TI-2010 will address both of these issues.
Cheers,
Rick
