Force Acronis service to stop on shutdown

Thread needs solution

We have about 100 notebooks in our office that we're backing up using B&R Advanced Workstation, the product works great for the most part, but one of the most annoying features that we've been having issues with is when our users attempt to shutdown or reboot while a task is running in the background and it hangs at "Operations are in progress" until the task is complete. I've contacted Acronis support on this and they basically told me that the product is suppose to function this way. The problem is that this is wasting a ton of company time and is really starting to annoy our users, especially on the day that Windows Updates get applied.

I've tried various methods attempting to remedy this using a script that does "net stop "Acronis Managed Machine Service"", I've added this as a shutdown script, logoff script, scheduled task that triggers on a USER32 event that indicates a system shutdown has started, and none of these work. The script will run but the services will get stuck on "Stopping" until the task is complete.

Has anyone else found a way around this?
