How to restore ABR Backup Plans & Tasks.

Reloaded Operating System and Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 Workstation.

Can I restore Backup Plans & Tasks from my archive?

If not, can I create new Backup Plan and have it continue to use previous archive from personal vault? I tried to do this but ABR created new archive in the vault with the same name as the old archive so now I have two archives with the same name. Backup retention is not working for the old archive.

If you installed ABR from scratch, it probably generated new instanceId that it places in files in .meta directory and so refuses to recognize old archives with old instanceId as the base for the newly created backup plan.

I wish there were a way to associate previous backups with a current backup plan.
I may try restoring ABR from the backup on top of the new install to see if that does any good.

I wonder if I were to change the instance id in the .meta folder files with the new instance id (that new archives have after reload of OS), if ABR would associate them as one archive?

I realize this would be unsupported.
I have an extra copy of all of my backups so I will test this and see what happens.
