How to restore previous backups to the bare metal machine
I am new to this software and anyone can let me know if I can achieve this with Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.
I have previous backups(tibs-include systemC: and dataD:) created by acronis image server 9.1. Now need to recover through Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 to a bare metal machine with RAID 1 setup. Any expert can let me know how to process this?
Thanks in advance.
Yong

Thanks John.
This bootable CD need to be made from previous image server 9.1 or Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 already included?

Hello Yong and JohnS!
Thank you for your comments and for opening the thread regarding this question. I will be glad to assist you with the scenario planned.
Dear JohnS, thank you for your valuable assistance!
Dear Young! JohnS is absolutely right: for the recovery onto the dissimilar hardware you will need Acronis Universal Restore. I just wanted to suggest you to check this Acronis Universal Restore Guide: it contains all the information regarding drivers needed and step-by-step screenshots, so you may find it useful.
If to speak about the version to recover the image:
in case you do have 9.1 version with Acronis Universal Restore you can use it as well. But we designed Acronis Backup and Recovery products in such a way that it should support the images created by the previous versions. So feel free to use Acronis Backup & Recovery 10. You can find the Backup Compatibility table here.

Hi, Yana:
Thanks for response.
I tried several times to using bootable disk(created from another server) to recover to my notebook(Dell vostro 1500 with new harddisk) and get the following error:
Loading... Please wait... fatal failed to respond (30 seconds)
Here are steps:
1. Boot from CD and click Acronis True Image Server (Full version)
2. See big Screen " Acronis True Image Server"
3. The first time, I got "Loading, Please wait... fatal failed to respond (30 seconds)"
Then I repeat above and "Loading, please wait..." Just hanging there
Please advice!
Thanks
Yong

Dear Yong L!
Thank you for your comment and for reporting about the inconvenience!
This error usually appears when the loader of the bootable media cannot properly communicate with the hardware. I'd advise you to download the latest bootable media straight from your account - this may solve the issue since the newest ISO has all the latest drivers updated.
Should the issue persist, please gather Acronis Linux Report from the drive and contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you!

Using SP3, Acronis 9.1.3887 I never had a computer failure for years. Now I do. Trying to restore image to newer Dell. I expected to use my Universal Restore, but it fails to see my USB external disk image. Trying just the regular version it sees
the external disk so I can use restore. It says successful, but when I reboot I see the WindowsXP screen for a second and then there is a flash of the BSOD and lt goes back to rebooting so nothings accomplished. Any ideas what to do next?
Thanks
