Image cloning for window server 2003

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I would like to clone the image for the whole windows server 2003 including the application inside to another server with same hardware specification. May i know which Acronis's product is suitable for the OS cloning?

I am new for the Acronis image backup. Can anyone of you provide me step by step guide to do the image cloning?

Your help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Swee Hin Lew,

Thank you for your interest in [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

I would recommend you to use Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.0 Workstation for your purposes.

The program allows you to transfer your hard drive and installed applications to another system.

Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.0 Workstation recognizes all hard disk drives connected to the PC, along with a wide variety of removable media drives with P-ATA (IDE), SATA and SATA 2.0, SCSI, USB, USB 2.0, IEEE1394 (Firewire) and PCMCIA interfaces, and many others.

You can select the method of partition and data transfer:

- as is;
- new disk space is proportionally distributed between the old disk partitions;
- new disk space is distributed manually.

Also Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.0 Workstation solves all backup problems, ensuring the safety of all information on your PC. Using it, you can back up selected files and folders or entire disks and partitions.

If failures occurs that block access to information or affect system operation, or if you accidentally delete necessary files, you will be able to easily restore the system and lost data.

You can perform the desired operation using the backup/restore procedure or using the clone tool. The difference between these tools is available in this article.

The step-by-step guide can be found in the User Guide for Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.0 Workstation available here and in the Help documents of the program.

I may recommend you to install a trial version in order to make sure that the program runs flawless for you.

Thank you.

perhaps I missed something... the original poster was inquiring which product he should use for his environment, (to quote) "windows server 2003" and you recommended B&R10 Workstation?

Yes, because it's one-time job, hardware is the same, and it's a little cheaper even than Snap Deploy for Servers.
