Inaccessible boot device error when using universal restore

When using Backup and Recovery 10 with Universal restore I am unable to restore the backup image to a different hardware platform. The backup image is Windows 2000 from a 9yr old machine. Restoring to a new hardware platform (Asus mobo, Dual core processor) with a boot disk created with appropriate drivers loaded for Universal Restore results in the Windows 2000 loading screen being displayed for about 3 seconds before a BSOD stop 0x07b Inaccessible_boot_device error is displayed. Have tried the destination drive as a sata drive and also an ide drive with the same error. Urgently need help with this problem as it's to move the Windows 2000 installation with bespoke software installed from an old failing machine to modern hardware.

Unfortunately, I am unable to identify the exact reason of the issue according to the information you provided, but I will do my best to investigate the issue and help you.

Have you tried ISOLINUX Bootable Media or Bootable Media created with Acronis Media Builder? 

ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the web site more frequently than regular product updates are released. Therefore, I can suggest you to try ISOLINUX Bootable Media if you haven't tried it yet.

We have implemented the possibility to download the appropriate ISOLINUX file after logging in to your account (the serial number should be registered). Please log in to your account, go to the Registered products and downloads section -> Bootable media. Download the file.

    Have you specified the drivers manually? The recommendation is to specify them manually. Hardware Vendors usually provide separate drivers for SCSI or RAID controllers. IDE or SATA drivers are usually included into the chipset drivers for the motherboard.

    The HDD controller drivers are critical for operating system booting. Specifying drivers for other devices (video/sound card) is not recommended. Once you restore and boot the system, you can update all other drivers manually through Windows Device Manager (Start -> Run -> devmgmt.msc).

    Please make sure that the latest drivers available for now from the respective web site are added during the recovery (*.inf or *.oem files are supported only).

If your operating system still fails to start, please boot the computer from a Windows installation CD, hit F6 when prompted and check out whether the drivers work there. Check if the RAID/HDD is detected.

Also please check the possibility to boot into Windows Safe mode, since this information is important and allows to localize the issue (when your computer starts but before Windows launches, press F8. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press F8 when the boot menu appears. Use the arrow keys to highlight the Safe Mode with Networking option, and then press ENTER).

Please provide us with the photo of the BSOD screen made by means of your digital camera or please write out the strings. You can try to stop the BSOD screen by the Pause button.
